Autobiography
On
September 26th, 1995, I was born in Spearfish, South Dakota, to my mom Kimberly
and my dad Tracy. My parents grew up in the Butte County area of South Dakota.
My parents dated throughout high school and for a while after high school. They
got married when they found out my big brother Brandon was on the way. Brandon
is approximately four years older than me, my little sister is only 15 months
younger than me, so I do not remember her birth. I enjoy being the middle child
because I have an outstanding relationship with my siblings and we are always
there for eachother. My siblings and I all love to dirt bike , this sport brings
us all together as a family and are able to have family time while we all do
something we love. My parents got divorced when I was very young, so I have no
recollection of what it was like when they were married. Their divorce did
impact my life as I got older because I had to share time with both of my
parents while I was growing up. I moved to Colorado when I was about 5 years
old. I started Kindergarten that fall at Kathryn Senor Elementary School in
New Castle, Co. When I was about 8 years old and in 3rd grade, I began playing
on a Pee Wee football team called the Jackals. I played pee wee football until I
was in 6th grade, then I did not play football until my junior year of high
school. My father lived in Pagosa Springs, Colorado and traveled to many of my
football games throughout my Pee Wee football career. He was a great influence
on me playing football when I was young. After I stopped playing Pee Wee
football I began to ride bmx often, while my family and I lived very close to
the New Castle Skatepark. When I was in 7th grade, my mom and stepfather, at the
time, got a divorce, so I decided to play a sport to help get things off my
mind; I was on the Riverside Middle School wrestling team where I rarely lost a
match. I had also wrestled for a pee wee team for the New Castle Rec. Center,
where my brother and I had traveled a lot on the weekends to go to big wrestling
meets. We earned lots of medals for doing so well. When I was in 8th grade my
mom and dad decided to have my sister Brittni and me move to our dads’ house; my
brother was old enough and was on his own. During my eighth grade year, I played
basketball for Ridgeway Secondary School. When I wasn't playing basketball I was
regularly riding my dirt bike, since my sister, dad, and I had fun doing it as a
family sport. When I was in 7th grade my younger sister got sick with a sickness
called (HSP). Once we moved to our dads things got worse for her and she had to
move back to our moms’ house because she had regular doctors appointments. My
freshman year I decided to move back to my mom’s for a couple months and went to
Coal RIdge High Schoo. This lead to me moving back to my father’s house and
finishing out the school year at Ridgeway Secondary School as a freshman. After
the school year was over, I went to South Dakota to work for my grandpa on his
farm. That summer I decided to move in with my grandparents and start going to
school in Newell, South Dakota for my sophomore year in high school. That summer
I began to start racing dirtbikes all summer and a lot more frequent than the
previous years. Once the summer began after finishing my sophomore year of high
school I moved back to my dads in Pagosa Springs, Colorado and worked for him
all summer. That fall we then went and bought my very own first vehicle a Nissan
Pathfinder. That fall I decided to play football for Pagosa Springs High School.
I was being homeschooled that year and midway through my junior year I moved to
Rifle, Colorado and began living with a friend of mine. I then began going to
Yampah Mountain High School (the greatest high school there is). I really
enjoyed going to Yampah because of how flexible it was and how it helped me out.
I then met the easiest best Math Teacher there is Mindi Harman. While going to
Yampah I started living with my brother and his girlfriend, Danielle. Danielle
was pregnant with my very first nephew. In February 2013, my nephew, Trenton,
was born. In April 2014, my little sister was put on peritoneal dialysis in
Denver, Colorado where I took a 2 week-long class on how to hook up and unhook
the dialysis machines. I also learned about all the precautions that were needed
to be taken while I hook and unhook her from the machine.
The
person I am today is because of the things I have learned throughout my life and
journey. I am a happy person today and glad that I am going to be graduating and
getting a job. I am sad that I have to leave high school because I will miss my
teachers and my classmates. Although I am sad about leaving high school, I am
excited to be moving forward with my life and beginning my life as an
adult.

To
Whom It May Concern:
I am writing this letter of recommendation at
the request of Jade Deschamps. He has asked me to write this general letter
which he may show to any prospective employer who asks him for
references.
My husband and I are farm/ranch owners and operators and
have been associated with agriculture all of our lives since youth. Jade is our
grandson who came for the summers to visit and to help with our
operation.
Jade has worked at our farm in South Dakota for many
summers since his childhood. Responsibilities included animal husbandry,
machinery operation, mechanical repairs, construction, and various miscellaneous
jobs. Most of the jobs were learned by him from his youth, so he developed a
good sense of assessment, planning, problem solving, and outcome skills used in
farming and ranching.
Many of the jobs associated with his work
required decision making skills of a constant nature without someone readily
available to assist. Jade always seemed willing to make those decisions without
hesitation. Farming and ranching, as with all businesses, requires a constant
assessment of methods used for a desired outcome and adapting accordingly. Jade
always seemed to be aware and willing to approach his work with these things in
mind. Also, Jade was willing to work the long hours associated with our
operation which is many times difficult for a young person to do.
Our
surrounding neighbors commented on Jade being personable and interested in his
work which was good to hear. A good community reputation is important with
agriculture in order to maintain a “help each other” atmosphere that the
agriculture community enjoys.
